In a historical quarter of Buenos Aires, BOEDO, a very famous spot of Buenos Aires because it is known as the place where tango was born and it is played today. Estacion Once "Once Station" is only a few blocks away, with the best bus, train and metro connections. The area which now conforms Boedo, was originally filled with brick ovens, dairy farms, mills and some pulperías and grocery stores. Then, at the turn of the century, came cafés with tango shows…. even more tango and the presence of malevos [evil-doers] and poets.
The most famous street corner, not just of the neighborhood, but perhaps of the city itself, is that of San Juan and Boedo. Homero Manzi immortalized this street corner in his tango Sur.
